What are RSS Feeds?

Now there's an easier, more practical and personalised way to find out about everything that's going on in the Algarve!
Visitalgarve.pt is now available in RSS.

What does RSS mean?
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a globally-standardised format that allows you to share contents in a faster, more personalised way. Readers can now have access to all the information about what’s happening in the Algarve in a very simple way and without having to visit the actual website.

How does RSS work?
Subscription to this news service is free. All you have to do is install a programme called RSS Reader that reads XML files. A number of different readers are available depending upon your operative system (List of RSS Readers). Some Internet browsers, such as Firefox and Opera, already feature RSS Readers. Once you have installed the programme, the next step is to add the channel containing the news you want to receive, so all you have to do is select one of the channels offered by Visitalgarve.pt:
